DigitalDreamDoor.com adresli web sitesi tam olarak neye dayanarak yaptığını bilemediğimiz "Dünyanın en iyi 100 metal parçası" isimli bir liste yayınladı. Fakat listede ciddi anlamda bazı problemler göze çarpıyor.
Ben ilk olarak Motörhead - Ace of Spades'e takıldım. 4. sıraya bu şarkıyı koymuşlar. Thrash metallik bir halini göremiyorum ben şarkının, bu listeye nasıl girdiğini de tam olarak anlayamadım. Öte yandan listede Pantera'nın efsane parçası "Walk" yok. Evet, Walk yok. Yine bir başka acayip durum, Enter Sandman'da bu listede yok. Metallica'nın en iyi parçası olarak lanse edildiği dönemler bile olan bu parçanın, Ace of Spades listeye 5. sıradan girerek hiç giremeyişi düşündürücü. Metal Militia gibi Thrash Metal'in mihenk taşlarından biri sayılabilecek bir şarkının da listede yer almıyor olması iyice canımı sıktı. Judas Priest'in Painkiller'ı da hakettiği yerde değil kanımca, ilk 10 yakışırdı bence bu parçaya.
Bunun dışında Master of Puppets'ın hakkıyla birinci olduğunu söyleyebilirim. Raining Blood'u ikinci sıraya koymuşlar, bence ikinci sıra Angel of Death'in hakkıdır. Bunun yanında Black Sabbath'ın Symptom of the Universe'ini 6. sıraya koymuşlar, çok da iyi yapmışlar. Bu parça ilk trash metal rifflerini içinde barından parça olarak bilinir, hakettiğini almış. Seek and Destroy'u ben olsam 2. sıraya koyardım ama ilk iki sıra Metallica olursa olmazdı tabii, iyi olmuş, kendine 4. sıradan yer bulmuş Seek and Destroy. İlk 10'a baktığımızda hepsi gerçekten hakettiği yerlerde diyebiliyorum. Bunun yanında Metallica ilk 10'a 3, tüm listeye ise 12 parça sokarak, Thrash Metal'in kralı olduğunu bir kez daha ispatladı. Bu arada bu listeye aslında pek itibar etmemek lazım. Çünkü bu siteye baktığımız ota boka liste yapmışlar. Her şeyin listesi var. Hatta az önce bir listeye göz attım, "Dünyanın en iyi 100 metal gitaristi" diye bir liste. Listede James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett'ın önünde yer alıyordu. Bunu söyledikten sonra susuyorum.
